Pete Stark, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Health Subcommittee, released a statement following today's meeting of the Ways and Means Committee to approve a letter to the Budget Committee.  This letter fulfills reconciliation instructions with H.R. 3200 as approved by the Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Stark: "H.R. 3200 has already been considered and approved by this committee, and today's meeting was simply a housekeeping matter to fulfill our reconciliation instructions with the same product we produced earlier this year." The House Ways and Means Committee considered H.R. 3200 on July 16, during a 16-hour markup which included consideration of 38 Republican amendments.  Today’s action does not change the underlying provisions in H.R. 3200 as approved by the Committee. # # #
